    Why would you install a 7 year old version of 1Click? It's like you didn't read my response.

    Laptop reader/burners are not known for their longevity or reliability, due to the heat problems, and constant use.


    Read errors usually occur for the following reasons: The disc has a defect (often too small to see), the DVD reader is causing the error (most likely)
    MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ8B0 1.00... the name says it all..

    So did that fix your compatiblility issue? Post another log. Its most likely what Sanshoe said, the drive is borked. I am just grasping at straws.

    omg just fixed it
    it was the compatibility settings and box was checked for xp and i unchecked it and now everything is working beautiful.

    thank you all for your brainstorming and suggestions because i couldnt of figured it out otherwise. thank you so much

    Way to go Alan!!!

    At first, I was under the assumption that the OP was running Win XP, then Win 7 was "mentioned", I disregarded that since the log was showing Win XP, then when the OP flat out stated Win 7, not XP was being used, I thought of "compatibility mode", however not sure enough to suggest it. Since I am still using Win XP and haven't had much experience using Win 7, the thought of "compatibility settings" is not an ordinary occurence in my thought process.
