Question No Sound on movie "Cold Play"

DVD Title is Cold Play. OK, I selected movie only and when playing back the copy, I get the Director's Commentary and nothing else. Re-Copied with Movie and all Extras (7% compression). Now I have the menus and can select the commentary on or off. When I select comments off, no sound at all. I can hit the Audio button on my player and switch between commentary and no sound.

So 3rd try, I'm in the process of copying again with Entire Disc selected (11% compression) but am burning to my HDD to see if it works.

So anybody tried copying Cold Play?

BTW, I tried the search feature on the forum before posting but I can't figure out how to search for 2 words like Cold Play. I tried "Cold Play" in quotes and +Cold +Play to get the search to find both words in a thread but the results have either Cold or Play which is a lot of threads. I guess the Boolean operators don't work or I haven't figured out how to search. Even the advanced search did not work.

Update AnyDVD to 6.5.9.6

This is from the "Movie Only" Back-up Version -

10/26/2009 6:13:21 PM info Audio #1 (English PCM 2ch) is included << Director's Commentary
10/26/2009 6:13:21 PM info Audio #0 (English AC3 2ch) is removed

Select the 'Movie Only" Preset
Right Click on the Interface > Refresh Source
Now
>> Select the Custom Preset
> Open the Main Movie Title-set
> Open the Audio Selection

>> Check the "Audio #0 (English AC3 2ch)" Selection
[ MAIN/Default AUDIO usually = #0 ]

>> If you want the "Commentary" Check
... or If not - UNcheck Audio #1 (English PCM 2ch)

For whatever reason , in this case in error
- 1Click selected PCM 2 Audio as the 'English'/ Main track

The 3rd time was the charm. It plays OK when I select everything. I don't use the custom setting in PRO much but wonder if I had selected Movie Only and gone to the check box for titleset 6 (movie only) and hit the plus sign and selected both audio streams (only the PCM 2 Ch was selected) if that would have given me both audio tracks?

Also any thoughts about my search question?

Thanks for the answers. You type much faster than me so I was replying after you replied. And I think I came to the same conclusion. The AC3 is 124Mb and the PCM is 996Mb so I guess 1Click chose the larger audio file as the correct audio?

I went to the Slysoft site and my 6.5.9.5 is the latest there. Where do you get the newer version? I usually get it when it tells me one is available from Slysoft.

If you Checked both Audio ... Both would Remain on the Back-up

Your Search was UN productive because
There are No other threads that I know of - about a/ this "Cold Play' Issue

If you use Cold or Play ... Or Cold Play
Those words are much too common to produce pertinent results
You would have had better results Searching :
[AUDIO] , [SOUND] , [Commentary]
- which more specifically categorizes to the actual Issue that you're having
It's not like the search engine is artificially intelligent
You need to send it off in the right direction

... but to answer your Question ...

[ Cold+Play ] > will bring up this thread

Right Click on the AnyDVD Icon in your sys tray

Thanks to both of you. I have been on the Slysoft forum, but rarely. Like I said, I usually wait until the little red fox says there is a new version available before I get it and install it.

And thanks for the search tips. I was looking for something about this movie and hoped I could search for a title with 2 words using a Boolean operator. Will the square brackets [] work?

No ... I only used the Brackets to Define/Isolate .... like quotation marks
.... but more like an "Entry field/box"

You know........ 5 minutes spent on DVD Junkies, learning to read a log and another 5 minutes on the slysoft forums, would have made this thread completely unneccessary.

Sadly... that is often the case.

Red face

My apologies for being lazy, and I should know better. I promise to look at my log more closely next time to see if I can solve things myself.
