Default had to reinstall

I had to reinstall everything on my computer. I am now having trouble with 1click. I think I need to update the firmware but I can find where to go to do this. Maybe this is not the problem. I don't know. But I have no problems before this for at least 4 years. Please help!

Make sure that your dvd-burner has the region set(is not in 0).

How do I check the region? Also, I installed 1 click over again and was able to copy a movie. However, I seem to remember having to update the firmware when I first installed the program about 4 years ago. That is why I thought I would need to do that again. Is this not the case?

It's always a good thing to stay updated with the drives' latest firmware, but not absolutely necessary....that's the same with region coding for the drive as well, good to set it but not absolutely a must.
I think that perhaps the install was corrupt the first time, and reinstalling it corrected it...

Once you update the firmware and set the region code, its permanent for the drive until you change it again. If the drive is 4 years old, its really time to be looking for a new drive. Technology keeps marching forward... fortunately, prices tend to march backward.

Upfront Disclosure .....

Your Optical drive is beyond antique
This drive's time has passed .... and then some
You should have it 'bronzed'
I'm kinda surprised if it still actually works at all

BTC DRW IDE1004IM @ VideoHelp

2xDVD-RW CLV

4xDVD+R CLV

That must be like watching paint dry

The last Firmware Update for the
BTC DRW IDE1004IM was APR , 2005

You definitely got your money's worth
.... It's been more than 5 years for the BTC

Trust me .... Get a New burner ... or better two
The Difference will be Night and Day

New 22x DVD Burners are only $30.00+/-

LG // GH22
Samsung 222/223
Pioneer

$30.00 +/-

You would do best to also get a new IDE cable
- while you're at it ( $5.00 ... or so ..IDE Round ATA133 )

Ultimately , If Possible
I really would suggest Installing Two new Optical Drives
- both New Burners
ie: A 22x Samsung to Read ... and a 22x LG to burn
= about/less than $50.00 out of pocket

Since your DVD/RW is such an Antique ....

You could try this > http://forum.lgsoftwareinnovations.c...8&postcount=15

If using the Older Version of the burn engine - resolves the Issue :
You might want to Contact LGSI Support

Could you please -

... Copy and Paste\ Post your AnyDVD "Status" Report ?

> Insert the Disc into your "Source" drive
> Allow AnyDVD to recognize the Disc
> Right Click on the AnyDVD Fox > Settings > Status

Here's the Usual .....troubleshoots ...

Let's check something .....

Go to > Start > My Computer
> Right Click on DVD drive > Properties > Auto-Play tab

What do you have selected for the "Action to Perform" for 'DVD Movie" ?
This should be set as "Take no action"
OR
Set only for your DVD Player ( WinDVD/Power DVD )
- be sure to close your 'Player' before opening 1Click

What do you have selected for the "Action to Perform" for 'Blank CD" ?
This should be set as "Take no action"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Go to
> Start > My Computer
> Right Click on DVD drive > Properties
Do you have a "DLA" tab ?
= Disable DLA
