Default Blue Screen of Death

I've just bought the s/w (DVD Convertor) and I'm getting a BSOD every time I try to run it.

I'm using W7 x64 Ult (retail version) and 1click Copy Pro works fine.

Suggestions and guidance gratefully received.

Dave

Are you using DVD43 ?

A log would be helpful - If a log was able to be saved

Each time you Open 1Click
- a new log session is created

Please Post a >> F8 log session of the attempt(s) ....
Let us read the 'process' and 'error' in context
- and your options - selected

Open 1Click > Press your F8 key
>> Copy and Paste the Log Report to your Reply post

Look for :
"***Session Started***" / "***Session Closed***"
- to divide the individual sessions

Post one "Complete" Session per Reply Post
One or Two "Session(s)" in question should suffice

If the One Session is too long - Divide the Session into Two Postings

Your log will instantly answer 20 questions we might have

Let us take a look ...

Please post the last few sessions of your log file
It will should at least give us a direction to pursue

Also - you might need to....

Go to >>
> Start > My Computer
>> "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\1ClickDVDCopy\

See if you have a crash.log - that you could post

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This could be a result of your Computer overheating
... or possibly
Maybe you're short on Resources ( RAM )
It also may be a result of conflicting software .......
Usually ... Whenever someone mentions 'crash'
I think of InCD
Please go through the Checklist provided
Here's the Usual .....troubleshoots ...
Let's check something .....
Go to > Start > My Computer
> Right Click on DVD drive > Properties > Auto-Play tab
What do you have selected for the "Action to Perform" for 'DVD Movie" ?
This should be set as "Take no action"
OR
Set only for your DVD Player ( WinDVD/Power DVD )
- be sure to close your 'Player' before opening 1Click
What do you have selected for the "Action to Perform" for 'Blank CD" ?
This should be set as "Take no action"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Go to
> Start > My Computer
> Right Click on DVD drive > Properties
Do you have a "DLA" tab ?
= Disable DLA

Would you happen to have
- Nero ( InCD )
or
Roxio ( DragtoDisc/ EasyArchive/ DirectCD )
- installed/active on your Computer ?

FAQ : Can other software conflict with the installation
and operation of 1Click DVD Copy?

Let's look at your Filters
> Download IMGBurn. It's a free program:
http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download
(it's also an excellent burning program )

> Run IMGBurn > Go to Tools > Filter Driver Load Order

> Click "Clipboard". Close IMGBurn
Then paste the information you copied into your clipboard
into your next post in this thread (ctrl-v).

Visit http://www.cdr-zone.com/forum/about4719.html,
and read the first post please,
so you can get a better understanding of what is going on.

Please , Do not start randomly deleting filters.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here's some Help - with maybe ... reducing your Computer's load ....
I'd recommend that you Try using EnditALL while Copying/Burning
... to free up your resources
... You might be surprised at what's running - in the background
Open Advanced SystemCare Free > Utilities > Admin Tools > Start-Up Manager
( it's completely free and a very recommended clean-up program )
You will be presented with a listing of the Programs
- Programs that are designated to Start-Up with Windows
- and Descriptions of Each ( Click on Selection )
Any Start Up Entry - Referring to any DVD/CD Software ?
Windows Media Player ?
ITunes ?
If So = UN Check it
This only Disables the Program - from the List
- Designated to 'Start-Up' - with Windows
You would - still - be able to 'manually' start the Program(s) - when needed
Also ......
UN Check anything - Not Trustworthy
UN Check anything - Not Necessary or Not Preferred
( you may click on an Start-Up item > Select Disable - If you prefer )
>> Apply
> Reboot
or -
You could also , Go into Msconfig - and Deselect unneeded Programs
- from your 'Start Up"
This will help a lot .....
Do I really need this on my PC?
How to use MSCONFIG ?
It would seem that the current problem is associated with 1click looking at the file that the previous conversion was done from as it starts up. If that file no longer exists, or was corrupt it seems to be very unhappy.
The dir where I guess the crash log might be found Is at:
F:\Users\David\AppData\Local\1Click DVD Converter
and it only contains subtitle.ifo
The BSOS inexplicably became irregular and then stopped and became irregular. Iclick convertor worked like a treat for a bit, now it suddenly has become unsuseable again, reporting an access violation but no BSOD.
I would suspect a faulty download, but I guess you you've got checksums all over that, so it seems unlikely.
DLA is not present and the machine is fairly large so I do not expect problems. The film files are held on a RAID 5 disk set over ethernet.
I shall try a cold boot and see if that resets 1click. Watch this space.
Thank you for your help.
May not make any difference, but since you're using Anydvd uncheck CPRx in 1Click/right-click dropdown menu.
10/31/2009 1:00:28 PM info CPRx error correction enabled : TRUE
10/31/2009 1:00:28 PM info AnyDVD - Protection based on unreadable sectors: TRUE
You don't need both at the same time.
Try / You will need to start over again
- Using a DVD Drive and an Original disc - as the source
It is Impossible to troubleshoot - from a Back-up already on your HDD (?)
We have No way of Knowing > how it got there < ( settings/etc )
... If that's the Case (?)
You're using AnyDVD ......
Disable CPRx in the 1Click Settings
Open 1Click -
Right Click on the 1Click Interface > Settings Menu
>> UN Check = CPRx error correction enabled
For best results , after changing the CPRx setting
Close 1Click and then RE open 1Click
> for the CPRx setting change to be most effective
````````````````````````````

Could you also please -

Right Click on the AnyDVD fox in your Sys tray
> Settings > Video DVD > Settings
>> Press the Default Button

... Copy and Paste\ Post your AnyDVD "Status" Report ?

> Insert the Disc into your "Source" drive
> Allow AnyDVD to recognize the Disc
> Right Click on the AnyDVD Fox > Settings > Status
>> Copy and Paste the Disc info
