Default Converting PAL DVD to NTSC DVD

Does anyone know an easy (easy as 1 Click DVD) way to convert a PAL DVD to NTSC DVD. DVD43 did not register the disc as a DVD - green happy face did not come on. I made a back-up copy of the DVD yesterday which plays on computer but will not play on DVD player.

thanks

There is a sticky thread that explains the simplest way to do that, and without encoding the video again... I'm on my QPhone so I can't attach the link, but you can search to find it here on the forum.

It's in the software section....

Default Update 11/19

mikeyb,

I followed your instructions (very clear & easy to follow). I checked the box to change from PAL to NTSC and clicked OK. When I came to the next step, the text did not change from PAL to NTSC - it remained PAL. When I double clicked on the line again, the NTSC box was still checked but the text never changed. When I clicked the Save button, I received an error message that said I could not save the file.

Any ideas?

thanks

I'm on the road currently but if post a screenshot of the error I'll see what might be the problem when I get home.

Sometimes when you change the two instances from NTSC to PAL it won't appear changed right off, you save it and then do the VTS_01_0.IFO the same way, save that and when you go back in it will read the PAL for all...
As for why it states you cannot save the changed IFO, well without seeing your screenshot I'm a bit in the dark.
You can even take both your IFOs and put copies of them into a ZIP file and attach it to your post...I can see what it's doing myself.

I really don't know much about this topic, however, what OS are you running.

By the looks of the contents of your attached file, you appear to be running XP. This one post constitutes the extent of my involvement in this thread.

Well you sent me the BUPs instead of the IFOs... but not to worry..lol, I just renamed them to IFOs, and they are all patched to NTSC...

Also, that error has nothing to do with IFOEdit, rather your OS..... But apparently the patch already changed the PAL DVD to NTSC, so not sure why your system gave you that error... And I'm also guessing that you already have the files ripped to your harddrive, correct?

Default Video files

mikeyb,

You are correct, the video files are saved to the hard drive. If the error message is due to the OS, am I out of luck on converting to NTSC?

thanks

The ZIP of the BUP file you sent me all were already patched to NTSC successfully. Try and open the IFOs in IFOEdiut again and you should see that they are already NTSC and can be burned to disc...
